Entrepreneurship

Become a Skilled Innovator and Create a Better World

As an entrepreneurship student at Loyola University New Orleans, you will prepare to launch startups and become a force for change in existing organizations. Loyola’s faculty include working professionals, consultants, and business owners who will help you develop skills to deal with the challenges of fast-paced environments, to solve difficult problems, and excel in situations that require adaptability, creativity, and analytical thinking. These traits are in high demand in every field, and the need for entrepreneurship graduates in New Orleans and across the world continues to rise. If you want to propel your career as an innovation analyst at a growing technology company, program manager of a startup incubator program, non-profit manager, or founder of your own business, consider entrepreneurship as your core discipline.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship

Loyola’s undergraduate entrepreneurship program will provide you with the skills needed to successfully launch, fund, and expand a business or social enterprise. It also gives you grounding to operate as an effective change agent and innovator in established organizations.

After completing the major, you will understand and apply principles and methods of idea generation and development. Through experiential exercises and on-the-ground experience, you will gain an understanding of business frameworks and models and connect innovation and entrepreneurial initiatives to organization objectives and goals. Moreover, you will become fluent in how to communicate, finance, or market a new idea, product, or initiative.

Undergraduate Minor in Entrepreneurship

Loyola’s minor in entrepreneurship is the perfect complement to many degree programs across the university. It allows students interested in another core discipline (i.e., sciences, humanities, arts) to develop an innovation toolkit that will help turn creative endeavors into sustainable organizations.

It is also an ideal minor for students in other business disciplines who wish to not only develop their ventures, but work in ventures that are either in need of change or that are disruptors at the forefront of novel trends. If you are launching your own theater company, becoming an independent accountant or financial advisor, developing a chemical bonding process, or creating a non-profit designed to catalyze social change, an entrepreneurship minor will be incredibly helpful.
